Band 'Remember Shakti' performs at Chowmahallah Palace in Hyderabad

Hyderabadis witnessed a two-hour long enthralling performance by the renowned band — Remember Shakti — comprising John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan, U Srinivas and V Selvaganesh at the Chowmahallah Palace.
The show saw in attendance not just music lovers but top cops and city socialites, who came together under the star-lit sky to watch the four-piece band create magic.
As Shankar Mahadevan’s soulful vocals juxtaposed with the sounds of Ustad Zakir Hussain’s tabla, John McLaughlin’s guitaring, Selva Ganesh’s beats on the kanjira and mridangam along with U Srinivas’s plucking of the mandolin, together the four of them stormed up quite a mystical vibe.
What got the audience asking for more was the jugalbandi between them that took the crowd on a musical high like no other.
The brilliant solo performances by each artiste was also much appreciated.
